Almost a dozen inmates fled from a prison in New Orleans on Friday morning, and at least one was arrested, according to the authorities.
The superintendent of the New Orleans police, Anne Kirkpatrick, said her agency had been announced at 10:30 a.m. that there were 11 refugees from the sheriff prison.
Kirkpatrick said when she was notified, she immediately offered the sheriff all resources.
“This is an urgent and serious situation,” she said during a press conference. “Please be aware. We know or asked about pictures of these refugees from the Sheriff office. We would also like to address the public if you see something and only consider this right. Do not hesitate. Call 911.”
Anyone who helps a refugee is calculated as accomplices, according to the authorities.
A violent arrest warrant is actively looking for the refugees together with the FBI and the US marshals.
The Sheriff’s office of Orleans Parish did not immediately answer Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
