The University of California, Davis, has announced plans to convert its men and women Changing rooms In his recreation centers in “universal” all-sex conversible rooms, the outrage was among the activists of women’s rights.
The university announced the renovation project in February and claimed that it would remove the old changing room format for the purpose of “inclusiveness.
“Including, accessible environments that meet the diverse needs of our community. We are pleased to be able to tell you that we will convert the current changing room facilities for the implementation of universal changing rooms,” said the university in its announcement.
“All members of Campus Recreation can use our universal changing rooms, regardless of who they are or how they identify. These rooms include members with disabilities and members of all gender identities.”

The news about this change spread on Tuesday, after two legislation aimed at keeping transgender athletes from women’s and girls’ sports that failed on Monday at the state and federal level.
Beth Bourne, activist of the California women’s rights, published on X about the universal changing rooms and the counter -reaction of students.
The tennis legend of women, Martina Navratilova, called the situation as “beyond f —-“.
“This is beyond F —— Up! Be ready to lose many women through this madness,” wrote Navratilova.
Many other users expressed similar outrage with their own posts.
The university expects to spend $ 5 million for the renovation work, and the students will have time until Wednesday to remove all their belongings from the current changing rooms. The renovated changing rooms will only be reopened in September.
The university’s announcement states that all toilets, changing rooms and cabanas are individual, private rooms with room -high locking doors and claim that they offer “more privacy for all members” compared to the current format.
