Man who was arrested in British ship collision for suspected manslaughter

A man was arrested by the British police for alleged manslaughter after the probable death of a person after the collision of two ships in the North SeaAccording to Sky News. On Monday, a container ship met a stationary tanker in front of the east coast of England who wore Jet fuel for the US military.

The Humberside police in Great Britain published an explanation Sky News Explained that they had arrested a 59-year-old man “because of the suspicion of gross negligence in connection with the collision”. The man is in custody, but has not yet been officially charged according to Sky News.

The US fuel tanker Stena Immaculate was allegedly anchored off the coast of England when the Solong freight ship, which was flapped with Portuguese (see illustration above), was on Monday around 9:45 a.m. local time. The collision started with fires and several explosions. Thirty -six people were saved, but one person is missing and probably dead on the Solong, which is reported that only should decrease.

According to reports, the Solong left the port in Scotland on Sunday and drove to Rotterdam, Netherlands. According to The Independent, the Stena Immersed 220,000 Barrel of Rays. Early reports stated that the soloong may have worn sodium cyanide, a dangerous chemical, but the ship owners contested it according to Sky News. Apparently the confusion came up with the fact that four of the containers had previously been used to carry the chemicals but were actually empty.

British politicians have expressed concerns that the incident may affect “foreign interference”, even though one thing still has to be determined. British maritime minister Mike Kane said it was reasonable to ask the question, but they don’t know yet.

“At the moment we believe that there is no malignant intention for this incident. However, the branch for marine accident investigations will examine, ”said Kane according to the Independent.

It would certainly be more understandable if the two ships were both moved, but the fact that the Stena was anchored in anchored fuel tank at the time of the collision has raised many eyebrows.

Craig Nicholson, superintendent of the Humberside police, said that they would work with the branch for marine accident examinations to determine the exact cause of the collision.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the missing crew member, and I have appointed family connection officers to contact and support the family,” said Nicholson in a explanation of Sky News. “The man who was arrested remains custody at that time while inquiries are in progress, and we continue to speak to everyone involved in order to determine the full circumstances of the incident.”
