Sony Testing Ki to drive PlayStation characters ahead

As a corporate and first provider platform, PlayStation and Sony did not shy away from the use of AI as part of their value proposal to consumers. While the competitor Microsoft did A big show about the use of game skills and prototypesInstead, Sony has focused on using AI and machine learning Frame generation and hardware usedlargely from experimenting with its celebrated software portfolio from PlayStation Worldwide Studios. However, if a leaked video is a hint, this can change soon.

In a report from the vergeA tipper steered on a YouTube video from an apparently internal presentation at Sony. The video has now been reflected on the basis of a company’s right to a company called Muso, which acts as a copyright company company that Sony entertainment is listing as one of his customers. In the video, the Playstation character Aloy protagonist of both horizon title questions from the player characters with artificially created animations, writing and voice answers. The video itself is told by Sharwin RaghoeBardajal, a director of software engineering at Sony Entertainment, whose main responsibility includes the interface of video game technology and AI.

At no point in time RaghoeBardajal indicates that this is a product that is to be announced or integrated in games. The story states that this technology was developed in addition to Guerilla Games as a prototype for internal Sony presentations.

The demo itself is powered with Openai’s Whisper for Speech-to-Text and GPT-4 and Llama 3 as a conversation brain. Sony’s own emotional language synthesis controls language generation, while the Mockingbird technology operates facial animation. Aloy’s model is reproduced from Horizon: Forbidden West, the previous main horizon title. While the VR Horizon game, Call of the Mountain, allowed the players to speak to Aloy while lived in another character, this demo takes on a more dissocented role, although the player would control in prohibited West Aloy.

In the games, Aloy is expressed by Ashley Burch, a trade union actor who is best known outside of video games, for their role in mythic quest, but omnipresent in the field of video game of the video game. We turned to Burch’s publicist, but did not hear ourselves at the time of publication. Sag-Aftra is still in a conditional strike about protection against AI in voice actors, including language replacement.

More on the point, it is a little difficult to recognize the benefits of endless conversations with video game characters. Both Horizon titles were praised for their letter and their stories about the characters who rebuild a world after the technology that has been out of control ended. Replacing with AI does not seem to increase as much pleasure by the player. Perhaps Sony has more ideas about where this could need the design of video games than just what can be seen on the surface.
