Most alleged gang members are in the twenties, the oldest are 44 years old. Many are exposed to several lives in prison terms if they are found guilty.
The charges include blackmail, sex trade, foreign imports, drug trafficking and carjacking conspiracy, robbery, illegal firearm possession and use and blackmail.

“Tren de Aragua is not just a street gang,” said Bondi. “It is a highly structured terrorist organization that has destroyed American families with brutal violence, operated human trafficking and spreads fatal drugs through our communities.”
Jessica Tisch, Commissioner of the New York police authority, also praised the operations and said that “TDA is commissioned as a criminal company for the first time.”

The US public prosecutor also mentions that this case was supported by Joint Task Force Vulcan, a collection of US lawyers and law enforcement agencies, which was founded in 2019 to expand the Salvadoran gang MS-13, and now expanded to access Tren de Aragua.
