Colton Herta was during a terrible crash during Indianapolis 500 Qualifying on Saturday.
He entered the turns 1 and 2 at 236 miles per hour when he lost control of his vehicle and whirled around. The car No. 26 hit its front end in the wall on the back. When he drove backwards, Herta’s car drove in the air and turned.

The car drove down the back and in curves 3 and 4.. It clung to the wall before it came to a standstill.
Herta was able to get out of the car and leave the terrifying accident.
“I am fine. Fortunately, these accidents look more scary these days than they feel,” said Herta to Fox Sports after leaving the emergency center. “Not to say that you felt good, but I think the team will be difficult at the moment to finish the backup car. It will probably be impossible to get it out today.

“Terrible day for this … no real signs that led to it. We were very satisfied with the car this morning and go. We couldn’t even go 1. So, yes, it’s shit, but I’m good. We’ll go on.”
From Saturday, Herta was a 16: 1 shot To win the Indy 500.
Herta has nine victories in his Indycar series Career. He recently won in Nashville to end the 2024 season. He had three top 10 places and a top 5 finish this year.
He will enter the points of the points in the Indy 500 ninth. He was seventh place in Indy last season.
