Tom Hanks Jim Lovell, the legendary astronaut that he portrayed in the film “Apollo 13”.
In an emotional homage to Instagram, Hanks Lovell remembered as a real visionary. “There are people who dare to dream and take others to the places where we would not go alone,” wrote the actor. “Jim Lovell, who had been in space for a long time and longer than any other person in our planet, was such a guy.”
The Apollo 13 Mission Commander died on Thursday in Lake Forest, Illinois. He was 97.

Hanks continued: “His many trips on earth and on the moon were not made for wealth or celebrity, but because such challenges like this drives the course of life-better than Jim Lovell to make these trips.”
When he thought about the time of Lovell’s death, Hanks added: “That night of A Full moonHe continues – to the sky, to the cosmos, to the stars. God accelerates you on this next trip, Jim Lovell. “

Lovell was part of a three-man crew in 1970, which after an emergency in the room returned safely to Earth when a critical oxygen tank exploded during the exploded Apollo 13 Mission. It was intended to be the third mission to the moon.

Ron Howard, who staged “Apollo 13”, also honored Lovell, whose history helped in a beloved film to make a new audience.
Howard told a warm homage that compared a carousel with pictures and clips from the film and side by side with the real-life astronauts with the presentation of Hanks.

Howard emphasized how his presence was monumental during the production of “Apollo 13”. “His support of our filmmaking inspired authenticity and increased our process in many ways.”
He concluded: “Thank you, sir, for your service in our country and humanity.”
Lovell’s family divided an explanation of his death on Friday.

“We are enormously proud of his amazing life and his career performance, which was emphasized by his legendary leadership in the pioneer of human space,” continued the family declaration. “But for all of us he was a father, grandpa and the leader of our family. The most important thing is that he was our hero. We will miss his unshakable optimism, his sense of humor and the way he had the feeling of doing the impossible. He was really a kind of species.”
