A NYPD policeman was shot twice on Friday morning when he reacted to carjacking from a violent career criminal, who was released, police and mayor of New York City Eric Adams said.
The officer was shot in his arm and leg and did not suffer life -threatening injuries in what Mayor Eric Adams described as a “friendly fire incident”. It is assumed that the officer of Crossfire was shot the police.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where the police said he was in stable state and vigilant and conscious.

NYC shooting: NYPD officer killed
The suspect, the 28-year-old Kevin Dubois, supposedly tried to rob people at a gas station before he was abrased a Uber driver from a service road in Whitestone, Queens.
Officers from the local district and narcotics reacted to the scene shortly before 9 a.m. and said Dubois showed a weapon.
Three officers then opened the fire and an officer was hit. Dubois was unharmed by the police and collar. No weapon was recovered on Dubois.
Dubois is a four-time convicted criminal with 10 previous arrests, including several knife robbery and attacks on police officers, NYPD commissioner Jessica Table said at a press conference.

Adams said the blame for shooting on Friday rests directly on the suspect’s publication.
“In order for dangerous people to be put on probation on our streets yesterday, it sends a terrible signal to our public,” said Adams.
“Regardless of who shot our detective, one person is responsible for starting the chain of events that we ended up in the hospital today,” said Adams. “This is a man who should stand behind bars, not on our streets.”
