Hawley introduces bill requiring ‘In God We Trust’ in federal buildings

First on Fox: Sen. Josh Hawley, R-mo. Introducing the legislation on Tuesday that would require the building requested across the country to show the national motto of America “in God We Trust”.

“The ‘in God We Trust Act’ will ensure that the Federal Government – like the American people for which it works – forgets the ultimate source of freedom and prosperity that this country is enjoying. Since the United States are preparing to celebrate their 250th birthday, this draft law would restore the belief in its rightful place in the halls of the government,” he added.

After Kaine left the hearing, sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas reacted with violent comments.

He continued to quote Thomas Jefferson’s words in the declaration of independence and to say: “We take these truths for granted that all people are created equally, that they are equipped with certain inalienable rights by their creator that are under these life, freedom and persecution of happiness.”
