A friendly match between Argentina and Argentina Puerto Rico was relocated from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale due to the city’s immigration crackdown.
The game, which was originally scheduled to take place on October 13th at the legendary Soldier Field in Chicago, will now be played on October 14th at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. ESPN reported.
Chase Stadium is the home of Inter Miami, the club of Argentine legend Lionel Messi, who are expected to take part in the game.

“Yes, I confirm that the Argentina-Puerto Rico game in Chicago has been canceled,” Chicago Park District spokesman Luca Serra confirmed to the Associated Press on Wednesday. “The organizer made the decision this morning due to low ticket sales.”
While Serra speaks of low ticket sales, an Argentine soccer federation executive said the unrest in Chicago led to the move.
Argentina face Venezuela in another friendly at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens this Friday, allowing the team to remain on site the following week.

president Donald Trump said on Truth Social on Wednesday that Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, both Democrats, should be jailed for failing to defend U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers during the raid.
“I will not back down. Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected officials to curb his power. What else is left for us on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?” Pritzker said Wednesday in response to Trump. “We all need to stand up and speak out.”
