“Player-led meetings are additional things beyond what I’m asking for,” McDaniel said. “We’ve been very accountable to me. It sounds like there was something on his mind in terms of the specific meetings with a few people that he tried to correct through direct communication. I think that’s the only way to lead.”
“As far as where we’ve been as a program, I think we’ve cleared the way in all of this and it’s very clear how we hold people accountable and what’s non-negotiable in all of this stuff. Of course he’s sending a message, but from my perspective, they’ve executed everything I’ve asked of the guys and I’m sure that no matter who he’s talking to, they’ll deliver just as well as he communicates with him directly.” Teammates.”
