Vibe coding continues to develop and along with it, the leading AI-powered coding services and tools, including AnthropoceneClaude Code.
Starting today, the service will be available over the web and in preview through the Claude iOS app, giving developers access to additional asynchronous features. Previously, it was available via the terminal on developer PCs with support for Git, Docker, Kubernetes, npm, pip, AWS CLI, etc. and as an extension to Microsoft’s open source VS Code Editor and other integrated development environments (IDEs) supported by JetBrains Claude agent.
“With Claude Code on the web, you can start coding sessions without opening your terminal,” Anthropic said in one Blog post. “Connect your GitHub repositories, describe what you need, and Claude will handle the implementation. Each session runs in its own isolated environment with real-time progress tracking, and you can actively control Claude to adjust course as he completes tasks.”
This allows users to execute coding projects asynchronously, a trend that many companies are looking for.
The web version of Claude Code, currently in research preview, will be available to Pro and Max users. However, Web Claude Code has the same rate limitations as other versions. Anthropocene reduced tariff limits to Claude and Claude Code following the coding tool’s unexpected popularity in July, which allowed some users to run Claude Code overnight.
Anthropic is now ensuring that Claude Code is closer to the availability of competitor OpenAI’s AI coding platform Codex, which is based on a variant of GPT-5 and is available again on mobile devices and the web Mid-September 2025.
Parallel use
Anthropic said that running Claude Code in the cloud means teams “can now run multiple tasks in parallel across different repositories through a single interface and deliver faster with automated PR creation and clear change summaries.”
One of the big advantages of coding agents is that they give developers the ability to run multiple coding projects, such as bug fixes, at the same time. Google‘S two coding agentsJules and Code Assist both offer asynchronous code generation and testing. Codex out of OpenAI also enables parallel work.
Anthropic said bringing Claude Code to the web will not disrupt workflows, but noted that running tasks in the cloud is best suited for tasks such as answering questions around projects and mapping repositories, bug fixes, as well as routine, well-defined tasks and backend changes to verify any customizations.
While most developers would likely prefer to use Claude Code on a desktop, Anthropic said the mobile version could encourage more users to “explore coding with Claude on the go.”
Isolated environments
Anthropic insisted that Claude Code tasks in the cloud will have the same level of security as the previous version. It runs in an “isolated sandbox environment with network and file system restrictions.”
Interactions occur through a secure proxy service, which the company says ensures the model only accesses authorized repositories.
Enterprise users can customize which domains Claude Code can connect to.
Claude Code is based on Claude Sonnet 4.5, which according to Anthropic is the best coding model around. The company recently developed Claude Haiku 4.5, a smaller version of Claude that also has strong coding capabilities. available to all Claude subscribersincluding free users.
