Cam Skattebo’s promising start to his rookie season was dashed on Sunday after he sprained his ankle New York Giants‘ Loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tax rebate was operated on on his ankle in Philadelphia. Giants head coach Brian Daboll said the surgery went well and Skattebo is “recovering.”

“Of course he will be missed, but he is on the road to recovery,” Daboll said about it Team website.
“He could be discharged from the hospital today and come back,” he added. “But here too he has a long way to go.”
Skattebo had a touchdown catch from rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart in the first quarter. Dart targeted a pass from Skattebo in the second quarter. The running back jumped and fell on his leg, resulting in an ankle injury.

Skattebo was taken from the field in a medical van.
“I was devastated” Dart said about his teammate’s injury. “It’s my boy, man. Seeing him go down and obviously reacting to what happened sucks. That’s the worst part of this game.”
Dart and Skattebo had developed a great relationship. The two had one Great game against the Eagles two weeks ago, resulting in a surprise win. It felt like the Giants had some momentum going for the rest of the season, but the injury will set back progress.
New York selected Skattebo in the fourth round of the draft out of Arizona State.

He has 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Additionally, he recorded 24 catches on 32 targets for 207 yards and two touchdowns.
The Giants are 2-6 after Sunday’s loss.
