Trump urges House Republicans to vote to release Epstein files

President Trump is urging House Republicans to vote to release files on the disgraced financier Jeffrey EpsteinHe stressed that he had “nothing to hide” and accused Democrats of using the case as a distraction from the Republican Party’s achievements.

In a Truth Social post on Sunday, Trump urged this House republican to vote for the release of the documents and call the controversy a “democratic hoax perpetrated by radical left-wing lunatics.”

“As I said on board Friday evening air force One According to the fake news media, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files because we have nothing to hide and it is time to move on from this Democratic hoax perpetrated by far-left lunatics to distract from the great success of the Republican Party, including our recent victory in the Democratic ‘shutdown,'” Trump wrote.

Trump referred to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) previous release of thousands of pages of Epstein-related documents.

He also noted that the agency is investigating possible ties between Epstein and “Democratic activists,” including former ones President Bill ClintonLinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.

“The House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I don’t care!” said Trump.

He added: “All I care about is that Republicans get back to the point on the economy, ‘affordability’ (where we win BIG!), our victory in reducing inflation from the highest level in history to virtually zero, lowering prices for the American people, historic tax cuts, attracting trillions of dollars of investment into America (A RECORD!), rebuilding our military, Securing our borderthe deportation of criminal illegal aliens, the end of men in women’s sports, the end of transgender for all and much more!”

Trump also argued that if Democrats had “something,” it would have surfaced before last year’s presidential election.

“Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive, and if the Democrats had something, they would have released it before our landslide election victory,” Trump said. “Some ‘members’ of the Republican Party are being ‘taken advantage of,’ and we can’t let that happen. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Friday that the Justice Department would investigate prominent Democrats after new emails revealed ties to Epstein.

In an X post Friday afternoon, Bondi said Jay Clayton, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, would lead the investigation.

“Clayton is one of the most accomplished and trusted prosecutors in the country,” Bondi wrote in the post. “As with all matters, the department will pursue these with urgency and integrity to provide answers to the American people.”
