Ahsoka may have found his new Baylan Skoll

When Actor Ray Stevenson passed away in 2023it was before the full extent of his new star Wars character had been researched. Now, with the second season of Ahsoka In preparation for the film, creator Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm may have found the man who will step into Baylan Skoll’s sinister shoes.

Rory McCann, best known to audiences as the dog continues game of Throneswill reportedly take on the role of Baylan Skoll Star Wars: Ahsoka when it returns to Disney+, possibly in 2026. The InSneider first reported the news and io9 has reached out to Lucasfilm for confirmation. There has been no response at the time of publication and we will update this post if we hear back.

When the audience last saw Skoll, he was stranded on the planet Peridea (along with Ahsoka, Sabine and his former apprentice Shin Hati) on a quest to explore some deep secrets of the Force. It was clear that Filoni had much more in store for the evil former Jedi. However, when Stevenson died, audiences debated whether or not the show should continue this story. However, according to the initial report, Stevenson’s family seems to have approved of the casting.

As for McCann, he’s best known for being a “friend of Arya” sort of hero game of ThronesMaybe you also know him as General in Gladiator II and for recording Lurch Hot fuzz (the “Yarp” guy). He is an imposing physical presence with a strong personality. A great choice.

There is no official information at the time Ahsoka will return, only Filoni worked hard to write it. From the looks of it, it could be the next Star Wars show to arrive on Disney+ after that Andor.
