Almost a full year after release Marvel Rivals gets its first-ever PvE (player versus enemy) mode in the form of “Marvel Zombies.”
As the name suggests, the mode is a collaboration with Marvel Animation and is based on the current Disney+ animated series of the same name. The game pits four players as Thor, Magik, Punisher, Jeff the Shark, and Blade against endless hordes of undead, each with different buffs or abilities specific to that mode. Players also fight two bosses: Zombie Namor and Scarlet Witch in her Queen of the Dead form, both from the series. The mode is a fun addition – zombies were all the rage in major video games at the time, and it’s easy to imagine that Rivals it would have had it even without TV synergies.
NetEase is currently keeping quiet about what rewards or progress await you with this new “Zombie” mode. Weeks agorevealed the developer Marvel Rivals would get some zombiesThemed skins for characters like Blade, Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch, and it’s a fun addition just in time for spooky season. Hopefully, more PvE modes are on the horizon, and not just those tied to MCU projects.
