Angel Reese sparks social media firestorm with threats of sitting out

The WNBA player Angel Reese inflamed a fire storm for social media after they claimed that the players were ready to suspend games in order to achieve higher salaries during the Your podcast Friday.

Reese and colleague WNBA player Dijons Carrington dealt with the next WNBA collective agreement.

“I have to get into the meetings because I hear: ‘If you don’t give us what we want, we’ll sit out,” said Reese.

Carrington added: “This is a possibility.”

Reese has enjoyed her financial situation in the past.

The WNBA Don’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think it pays one of my bills. Literally, “said Reese.

Reese’s comments conducted a heated debate on social media about a WNBA player strike, which led to higher salaries. In its existence, the WNBA never made a profit and was subsidized by the NBA.

In October Reese admitted that she could not afford to pay her bills based on this salary in an Instagram video video.

“I live beyond my means. Hate pays you bills, baby. I just hope that you know that the WNBA does not pay my bills at all,” she said. “I don’t even think that pays off one of my bills. In the truest sense of the word, I try to think of my rent where I stay. Let me make the mouse near. I don’t even know my (WNBA) salary $ 74,000? “

The WNBA Players Union exchanged its current collective agreement in October, two years before its process.

The current CBA will continue to cover the 2025 season, so both sides have one year to negotiate a new agreement.
