The American Cancer Society’s estimate in 2025, prostate cancer is diagnosed in more than 300,000 men and more than 35,000 will die from the disease.
The long -standing baseball broadcaster Ed Randall is a survivor of prostate cancer.
“I was 47 years old when I went to the doctor for my annual routine -year -old physical. At least I thought it would be routine. And I felt good that day. And to my surprise I was told that I had prostate cancer,” says Randall.
Ed realized that other men could be in the same situation in which he was.
In 2003 he founded the charity fans for healing, which encourages men over 40 to receive a PSA blood test.
“There is a healing rate of 99 percent if prostate cancer is proven early,” says Randall.
Ed Co-Moderator of the show “Remember When” in the MLB Network Radio on Siriusxm and he takes from every show to inform the listeners about the fans for the remedy.
“I am the only person, I am sure that in this country … that prevents his show from telling the men in his audience that they should go to the doctors and make a simple blood test because the demographic population, who hears my shows, is largely the demographic population that is most susceptible to prostate cancer,” says Randall.
The fans for the work of the Cure include the orientation of sensitization nights and free demonstrations in stadiums and sports arenas as well as community health events, patient representative, transfers for doctors and support groups for men and women.
