Bill Belichick backs Eli Manning’s Hall of Fame pursuit


Eli Manning was named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Modern Era ballot two weeks ago while heading to Canton, Ohio, for his freshman year.

The former New York Giants The star has a Hall of Fame-worthy resume with two Super Bowl championships – both against Tom Brady and an undefeated New England Patriots team – as well as 57,023 passing yards and 366 touchdown passes. These statistics were among the NFL’s highest ever when he retired from the sport after the 2019 season.

Manning told this New York Post Last week he wasn’t so sure.

“I think it’s different just because it’s all out of your hands, you’re not advocating for it, you’re not trying to talk to people about it or prove your point,” he said. “If I get in, it’s going to be a great, incredible few days in New Orleans, and if not, it’s not going to spoil anything for me. I won’t be in a bad mood, I won’t sulk.

“It’s quite an honor to be in the top 15 this year, so I see it all as a positive and enjoyable experience.”
