Brittney Griner whistled for double technical, ejected after contacting referee

Brittney Griner went into the changing room earlier than the rest Atlanta dream Team colleagues on Wednesday.

The Atlanta Center was ejected after a referee whistled it for two technical fouls in the second half. Griner was punished to argue with a play official and to physically contact them.

The dispute began after Griner tried to secure a rebound that was contested by Dallas Wings Wache Haley Jones. A foul was assigned to Griner and then approached the referee.

The verbal exchange with the official quickluy led to a technical foul. Shortly after the call, Griner seemed to push the referee – which immediately pulled the second technical approval. According to the WNBA rules, a player is automatically removed from one game as soon as he has received two technical fouls.

Griner quickly went to the tunnel after being ejected. She ended the game with four points and four rebounds.
