This week, Kelce stated that he was thinking about the fact that he was retired shortly before resigning while retiring.
“I love football. I don’t think I was really thinking about it,” said Kelce on Wednesday in Chiefs Minicamp. “… I love to come to work every day. It was not very difficult for me. I know that I get older, but at the same time I still have the feeling that I can prove a lot in this league. It was really not a difficult decision for me.”

Kelce no longer remained the 1000 yard brand last season. He ended the regular season with 823 yards.
Kelce said that after the 2025 season, he would go around his future. In the meantime, he focuses on helping the chiefs to be the last team in the next February.

“I have a year in this contract, I know that and we will try to find out something for the next year,” said Kelce. “The Chiefs organization knows how much I love them. I can’t play myself somewhere else.
