Country Star Raul Malo announced that his struggle against colon cancer in stage 4 had “a turn” and revealed that he recently diagnosed a rare complication of the disease.
On Wednesday, the 60-year-old outsider, who revealed his cancer diagnosis for the first time in June 2024, announced on social media that he had developed leptomenenade analysis (LMD). According to the Cleveland Clinic, LMD is an incurable disease in which cancer cells spread from progressive cancer to cerebrospinal fluid and the membranes around the brain and spinal cord.
In an Instagram post, Malo said that the Mavericks cancel their remaining tour dates of 2025, with the exception of two December shows so that he can concentrate on his health.
“I would like to update them all about my health because things have taken a curve,” wrote Malo next to a video in which he was sitting on a chair and playing a guitar.

“Since it goes to cancer, it is a very unpredictable and indiscriminate illness”, the ” Grammy Award Winner continued. “I developed something as a LMD that stands for ‘Get this s-out my head.’ The treatment for this is radiation that I will start tomorrow.
“We will probably jump into chemotherapy and even look at alternative therapies,” added Malo. “But it’s time to bring your words to heart to rest and relax, so I’ll do it.”
While Malo shared that “all shows will be canceled in the future”, he promised the fans that the Mavericks “continued to carry out cool projects, publish live recordings, goods, trovador, etc.”.

The Mavericks toured Dwight Yoakam However, several data recently canceled or postponed on the Cosmic Roundup & Rodeo Tour of the Country Star.
“I would like to thank Dwight Yoakam, his band and crew for their friendliness and understanding this year, and we are sorry that we could not end the tour as we planned it,” wrote Malo.
Malo, however, asked the fans to capture their tickets on the two shows of the band in the Ryman Auditorium of Nashville on December 5th and 6th.

The Hitmaker “Dance The Night Away” also assured the fans that he is “in no way alone or fear”.
“I have an amazing woman and boys, a wonderful family, a team, a street crew, a band, friends and fans,” he wrote. “I don’t even have enough words to describe the love and support that I just get.”

“For my friends who sent me texts and messages, I want you to know that I read them all,” he continued. “I can’t give them all back, but your love, prayers and wishes have not been unnoticed.”

Malo also thought about how he plans to approach his Cancer battle Go forward and swore to share further updates.
“We don’t know what it will look like in a few months, but we will go into how we have with everything else,” he said. “Full steam ahead. Fighting, relaxing, resting, repeating.”
“I would like to thank you all for your incredible support with all of this and excuse the cancellations, but we have no choice,” Malo continued. “Find friendliness and empathy out there, wherever you can. People are doing well, even if they don’t believe what they see on TV.”
