Denmark’s government says it will increase military expenses in the North Atlantic in the US President Donald Trumps Offer that Greenland sold or abolished to the United States.

Frederiksen warned that Europe was exposed to a “unsafe reality” and said that its country would strengthen its military presence in Greenland.
After Trump has repeatedly made various statements that are of crucial importance for the US and economic security and have expressed interest in the purchase of Denmark. Trump even said that he would not rule out military violence to get control of the island’s territory.

Frederiksen mentioned Trump’s threat in comments at a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, but she said that “we are confronted with a more insecure reality, a reality that requires even more uniform Europe and more cooperation”.

She pointed out Russian activities in Ukraine and beyond and said that “it is in Europe to define the future of our continent, and I think we have to take on more responsibility for our own security.”
In its announcement in the Arctic and North Atlantic region, the Danish Ministry of Defense said that the parties agreed to negotiate a second agreement in the first half of this year that focused on strengthening the deterrent and defense.

The Greenland government insisted that the territory is not for sale, but is open to cooperation. Trump’s ambitions were not mentioned in the declaration of the Ministry of Defense.
