The FBI released a new video on Thursday that purportedly shows the January 5, 2021 suspect who committed the crime Pipe bombs in front of the offices of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee in Washington, DC

“Without being able to confirm the identity of the suspect, it is very difficult to clearly determine the motive,” David Sundberg, assistant director of the FBI’s Washington field office, told The Associated Press. “So it would be difficult for us to say that there is a connection, although we cannot say that there is not.”

Investigators aren’t even sure if the suspect is a man or a woman.

The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie, a face mask, black gloves and Nike Air Max Speed ​​Turf shoes, the FBI said, adding that fewer than 25,000 pairs of the shoes were sold between August 2018 and the time of the attack.

“In terms of clothing, these are probably the most notable or distinctive feature when it comes to the clothing that the suspect was wearing,” Sundberg said. “We hope someone recognizes this.”

In the last four years, the FBI has evaluated over 600 tips, reviewed around 39,000 video files and conducted more than 1,000 interviews.

The suspect then planted the second bomb in an alley behind the Republican National Committee building at about 8:16 p.m. and was last seen in surveillance footage two minutes later walking past a row of D.C. homes carrying a backpack containing the Investigators believe he had used it to transport pipe bombs.

Both Vice President Kamala Harris and then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were near the DNC offices before the first bomb was found and deactivated on the afternoon of January 6.
