Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, a democrat, said there is no emergency, and President Donald Trump tries to “establish a crisis” after reporting that the federal government could use the national guard in Chicago to address Crimes in the city.
“At that time, the state of Illinois did not receive any inquiries or free from the federal government in which we need help and we have not made any applications for federal interventions,” said the governor in a statement on Saturday.
This comes afterwards Trump’s move to strengthen the presence of the federal law enforcement authorities in Washington, DC, to reduce crime. Hundreds of federal agents and National Guard troops were used as part of the federal takeover of the district on the streets of DC.
Now Trump says that Chicago could be the next goal of his government for a federal crime against crime.

The Pentagon has planned a military commitment in Chicago for weeks, which could include some thousand mobilization Troops of the National Guard Next month according to the Washington Post.
“The security of the people in Illinois always has my top priority,” said Pritzker. “There is no emergency that justifies the President of the United States to promote the Illinois National Guard, to use the National Guard from other countries or to send military service within our own limits.”
The governor also accused Trump, “trying to produce a crisis, politicize Americans who serve in uniform, and continue to abuse his power to distract from the pain he works”.
“We will continue to follow the law, stand up for the sovereignty of our state and protect the people in Illinois,” he continued.
The Mayor of Chicago calls Trump’s National Guard “uncoordinated, inappropriate and inconspicuous”.

Juliana Stratton, Governor of the Democrats, said that the report that Trump is preparing to use national troops in Chicago “proves what we all know: He is ready to make all possible efforts to create chaos if it means more political power – no matter who is hurt.”
“As a lieutenant governor and throughout my career, I fertilized the Reformation of our criminal legal system, and under the government of Pritzker-Stratton we made enormous progress,” she said in a statement. “The crime in Chicago drops and there are absolutely no reasons for this decision to distract from the pain that Trump adds to working families with his dangerous agenda.”
“Illinois, governor Pritzker and I are here to stand for their rights, their freedoms and will protect them from the storms of hate and fear,” she added.

The mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, also Democrat, said: “The National Guard, which the National Guard uses to Chicago, has the potential to ignite the tensions between residents and law enforcement authorities if we know that the trust between the police and residents is fundamental to build more secure communities.”
“An illegal use of the [National Guard] Would not be sustainable and would threaten to undermine historical progress that we have achieved, “said Johnson in a statement on Friday.
The mayor also cited data from which it shows that murders, robberies and shootings have dropped considerably last year.
