TEL AVIV, Israel – After the first three Israeli hostages were released under the ceasefire agreement, Fox News Digital has exclusively learned that several terrorists captured by Israeli forces last month have confessed that Israeli prisoners were held at Kamal Adwan Hospital at different times were held in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently carried out a major raid on the hospital and arrested around 240 terrorists. According to the Israelis, the hospital’s director, Hussam Abu Safiya, collected information showing that he not only allowed Hamas to enter the hospital, but also actively collaborated with the terrorist group.
Another captured terrorist, Anas Muhammad Faiz al-Sharif, who worked as a cleaning supervisor at the hospital and joined the Nukhba forces of Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades in 2021, told Israeli interrogators that the facility in the northern Gaza Strip was used as a “safe haven for …” she is viewed because she is [Israeli] The military cannot attack it directly.”

Fox News Digital asked a spokesperson for the World Health Organization (WHO) whether they would condemn Hamas’s use of hospitals for military purposes based on the IDF’s new allegations about the hostage detention at Adwan Hospital.
In a statement, the spokesman said: “International humanitarian law is very clear. Health workers and health facilities are off limits. They must not be attacked. They may not be used for military purposes. They must be protected at all times.” This is about protecting civilians as well as protecting the health systems and infrastructure on which communities rely for vital care and continuity of services.
“The failure to protect and respect healthcare is doubly devastating. Firstly in terms of the initial damage and then again in the months or years required to rebuild health systems.”
The statement ended without condemning or singling out Hamas. “Protecting health care also includes prohibiting combatants from using health facilities for military purposes. International humanitarian law also makes clear that even when health facilities are used for military purposes, strict conditions apply to take action against them, including a duty to warn and wait after a warning, and even then, disproportionate attacks are strictly prohibited. “
Richard Goldberg, a senior adviser at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and a former Trump National Security Council official, claimed: “Several international organizations operating in Gaza likely had direct knowledge that Hamas was using hospitals as terror centers and were simply publicly protesting Israel’s attacks Attempt to clear Gaza.” Terrorists: The Red Cross, UNRWA, the World Health Organization – they were all collaborators.”

Goldberg offered advice for electing President Trump UN Ambassador Elise Stefanik, which comes before the Senate on Tuesday. “Stefanik would have been right to initiate investigations into each of these authorities and demand documents and personnel interviews. And if they don’t comply, they will face the consequences.”
One of Trump’s first official acts on Monday was the withdrawal of the USA from the WHO.
During the months-long IDF operation in the northern Gaza Strip, more than 700 terrorists were arrested, including Hamas commanders, some of whom were involved in the massacre in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. More than a dozen of those arrested were involved in the kidnapping or detention of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
During the operation, the IDF located and destroyed thousands of weapons, including RPGs, stored at the hospital itself. The aim of the campaign was to completely defeat Hamas’ Northern Brigade and eliminate the terror group’s presence from the civilian population. IDF troops conducted raids lasting from a few hours to a full day. During extended periods, they entered the hospital and searched for weapons and terrorists.
Former Shin Bet agent Gonen Ben Itzhak, who supervised former Hamas informant Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a Hamas founder, told Fox News Digital: “Using visual intelligence, it is easy to see when Hamas has weapons and brings ammunition into the country.” Hospital… and even with a single human source, you can get information about what’s happening inside. From a signals perspective, the terrorists use telephones and walkie-talkies that can be intercepted.

There was almost no fighting inside the hospital, from which about 950 people were eventually evacuated, all before the IDF’s final raid. Since then, at the request of the Palestinians, the Israeli military has facilitated and ensured the transfer of hospital operations to the nearby Indonesian hospital.
As the United Nations and the international community condemned Jerusalem for its anti-terrorism campaign, Kamal Adwan, a former Palestinian Authority official, told Fox News Digital that Hamas’ use of hospitals was “immoral” and was known to harm patients and Health workers at risk.
Adnan al-Damiri recently went viral on social media after Israel-based Palestinian Media Watch flagged his Facebook post that showed Hamas taking a Gaza reporter to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis for questioning in the southern Gaza Strip.

“I wrote this post to show Palestinians that Hamas is doing everything it can against the people of Gaza, including in hospitals. Hamas claims its fight is against them [Israeli] “Occupation, but the fact is that they are taking advantage of our people,” al-Damiri said. He noted that the document posted on social media was sent to him by a friend from Gaza who was summoned for questioning.
“I know this is a real document. I am not afraid of Hamas,” he added.
In December 2023, Ahmed Kahloutthe then director of Kamal Adwan Hospital told him Israeli interrogators that he and other employees were Hamas activists. Kahlout described how Hamas used ambulances to hide activists, transport terrorist groups and deliver a kidnapped IDF soldier.
Basem Naim, a member of Hamas’ political bureau in Gaza, told Fox News Digital that his “resistance movement understands very well the importance of respecting international humanitarian law and its obligations, and that it meets the needs of our people for public services.” “understands very well” how important it is to protect them.

“I can say with certainty that Hamas has not used any hospital as a military base or as a refuge for fighters,” he continued. “As for all aggressions against hospitals in the Gaza Strip, in no case has Israel been able to prove its claims or provide serious or neutral evidence,” he said.
“We demand the immediate release of Dr. Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, who was kidnapped by Israeli forces along with dozens of other medical professionals. Israel bears full responsibility and responsibility for their lives. Dr. “Safiya is not a Hamas member,” Naim added.

Hamas was accused of systematically converting Shifa into a large command center and even storing weapons in the MRI building. On November 19, 2023, the IDF released surveillance footage of armed terrorists taking hostages to Shifa.
