Kansa’s health officer Suppose you monitor six cases of West -Nil viruses and five of them this year as serious.
By August 15, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) will show three cases in the North Center region of Kansas and three more in the southern central part of the state.
The KDHE says that five of the six cases are classified as neuroinvasive. Jill Bronaugh, a Kdhe spokesman, said that non-neuroinvasive cases are less serious, according to a report, of a report of less serious KSNT.

“Neuroinvasive cases are those in which there are clinical evidence of the participation of the central nervous system in the disease process,” said Bronaugh. “These cases are generally more serious and include symptoms such as high fever, inflammation of the brain and/or the tissue that surrounds the brain, orientation, paralysis or muscle weakness, deafness and visual loss. These cases generally have a longer recreational period and require more extensive medical intervention.”
According to a report by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), the numbers are still below the sums of the past year, but some health officers warn that the risk will increase when mosquito activity reaches its peak in late summer.

Kdhe currently has a West -Nil -virus dashboardwhich is updated on Fridays during the surveillance season from July to September.

The CDC says that most people who are infected with the West Nil virus “have a lifelong immunity or protection against the recovery of the disease”.
Health officers have asked the residents to use precautionary measures when they go outdoors to protect themselves from mosquito bites. Officials suggest Insect preservatives, Wearing long sleeves and pants outdoors and eliminating standing water around houses where mosquitoes can breed.
