Keith Urban had to cancel his concert in South Carolina because he was recovering from a minor illness.
The 57-year-old country singer was scheduled to perform at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville on Thursday night as part of his High and Alive tour, but canceled at the last minute.
A statement was posted on the venue’s website saying, “Keith Urban was instructed by his longtime laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett of the Vanderbilt Voice Center to cancel his appearance tonight in Greenville, SC at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena due to laryngitis that began earlier this week. He has been placed on complete vocal rest and Dr. Garrett is optimistic he will be back on stage for his show in Nashville.”
The statement also included a personal message from Urban apologizing to fans for the sudden cancellation.

“Hey Greenville, I’m SO sorry to have to cancel the show… I know all the logistics involved in getting to a concert these days and I didn’t take either of YOU for granted,” he said. “Looking forward to going back there when we can!!!!”
The cancellation came just weeks after Urban and his estranged wife Nicole Kidman filed for divorce after nearly 20 years of marriage.
The news of their separation spread September 29, Kidman filed for divorce the following day. According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” and ongoing “marriage difficulties” as the reason for their separation and listed September 30 as the date of separation.
“Nicole’s sister [Antonia] “It’s been rock solid and the entire Kidman family has come together to support each other,” a source said told people when the news broke.

“She didn’t want this,” the source added. “She fought to save the marriage.”
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaarreleased on October 9, Kidman discussed how she deals with difficult situations by drawing comparisons to similar experiences she has had in the past.
“Hey Greenville, I’m so sorry to have to cancel the show… I know all the logistics of getting to a concert these days and I didn’t take either of YOU for granted.”
Although she didn’t directly name Urban, she explained that she’s learned new ways to deal with difficulties as she’s gotten older, saying, “The best part is the experiences you’ve had,” because at a certain point she can look at a situation and think, “Oh, I’ve been here before. Now I actually know how to deal with this.”
“There’s something about knowing that no matter how painful or how difficult or how devastating something is, there is a way,” she told the outlet. “You’re going to have to feel it. You’re not going to be able to numb it. You’re going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times. You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly – and that can take an enormous amount of time – it will go away.”
