KKR to acquire Australian chicken breeders, protects itself from conscious super

(Reuters) Private Equity Group KKR will acquire Proteen, one of the largest graves in Australia, from the Aware pension fund, the parties said in a joint explanation on Wednesday without disclosing financial details.

Protes was founded in 2001 and currently manages more than 700 poultry sheds in more than 60 farms. The company has been owned by Aware since 2018.

“KKR has actively monitored the agricultural infrastructure area as thematic high conditions,” said Andrew Jennings, managing director and head of Australia & New Zealand Infrastructure at KKR.

KKR will make the investment in protes from the Asian -Pacific infrastructure investors II fund, who has expanded its managed assets to around 13 billion US dollars since its foundation in 2019.

The deal is expected to be completed later this year, subject to official permits.
