The keyboard and the touchpad are often compromises on budget laptops, and that applies here. The keys have the feeling of making a lot of effort as if the activity is too high. It can feel a bit exhausting to type, which meant that a lot of ghost typing in which I was missing letters. It has a number pillow, but I don’t prefer it because they force the touchpad to be outside the middle.
Speaking of touchpad, that’s not the worst that I used. The click feels good because it is not overly loud or difficult to press – a common problem with cheap touchpads. The problem here is the persecution as usual. It feels chopped off to slide her finger over the surface, and precise actions like the text selection feel awkward. It is certainly not a unique problem for the IdeaPad 5i, but it is one of the things that feel cheap laptops of low quality.

You buy a laptop of this size for the screen. But with the IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 you don’t get a high-quality panel. It is a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with a 60 Hz update rate. This is not bad per se, but you can definitely see the pixels on a 16-inch laptop. That’s why I often recommend smaller laptops if you have a closer budget. How Many laptops At this price, the IdeaPad uses a myy panel. It is IPS, but it has a strong green color that lets the colors peeled off. It is immediately striking and as soon as I measured it with a color colorimeter, it proved to be true and only covered 63 percent of the SRGB color space.
However, it is shiny. This is the only positive quality because many budget laptops use a matt display that looks even more. It also means that the display does not have these really ugly plastic blows, which are delivered with matt displays. This makes a significant contribution to improving the appearance of the ideas pad 5i. One of the reasons why these cheap laptops choose mat is that their displays are not very bright. This one at a maximum of 334 nits, and yes, that means that they fight against glare and reflections when they are near light sources.
But let’s be clear: no 16-inch laptop below $ 800 has a better advertisement. There are smaller laptops like that M1 MacBook Air or the Dell 14 Plus That has far better screens, but nothing in this size area.
