A man from upstate New York has been arrested the Big Apple That same day, after he allegedly claimed he was on his way to attack federal agents, thousands of people took to the streets to take part in the nationwide “No Kings” protests.
David Cox, 54, was arrested in Brooklyn on Saturday after claiming to have firebombs in his vehicle and planning to “fight ICE agents” at the Manhattan protest. The New York Post reported.
Cox allegedly made the threats while speaking to a passerby at an upstate gas station Friday evening, the NYPD said.

After Cox left, the passerby called local authorities to report the two’s conversation.
The next day, as 100,000 protesters flooded the city’s streets for a “No Kings” rally, authorities were alerted that Cox’s vehicle had driven into Brooklyn and he was taken into custody without incident, reports said the NYPD.
Police found no firebombs or weapons in Cox’s vehicle, The Post reported.

Cox is accused Making a terrorist threat, making false reports of terrorism and threatening mass destruction, police said.
The charges came after tens of thousands of protesters spoke out against the president Donald Trump’s The government took part in the nationwide demonstrations, where participants often wore satirical costumes and carried signs.
Despite the large crowds that flocked to the Big Apple, there were no protest-related arrests, according to the NYPD.

However, three people were arrested in Portland after federal authorities were forced to use tear gas on protesters when a rally turned violent. Additionally, 15 people were arrested during a protest outside an ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois.
