Polk County asked the residents along the US Highway 176 between the cities of Tryon and Saluda to evacuate on Facebook, and warned on Facebook that the fire quickly spread when several fire departments worked on the containment. Tryon and Saluda are about 40 miles south of Asheville.

The district said that displaced people could talk at the meeting point in Polk in Columbus.
In South CarolinaHorry County Fire Rescue ordered the evacuation of residents from several districts in the Carolina Forest, which are 10 miles west of Myrtle Beach, while the crews contain a forest fire.
“The crews continue to work a large running fire near Carolina Forest,” said the fire brigade on Facebook. “Horry County monitors the weather forecast and prepares to adapt the course of our life safety and ownership protection plan if the conditions should develop.”

Two planes and a Blackhawk helicopter would drop the water on Sunday morning, said Tim McGinnis, Rep. Tim McGinnis in South Carolina Gop, and quoted an update that he received from State Forester Scott Phillips. Tractors were also on the way to dig lines around the fire to contain it.
Republican Henrey McMaster, Governor of South Carolina, announced that a nationwide ban on combustion is in force due to dangerous forest fire conditions. He said everyone who begins a fire in the state would go to prison, while firefighting teams are working on containing several fires across the state.
