Sources that are familiar with the discussions have shown that the United States played a crucial role in facilitating these discussions and encourage Syria’s new leadership to deal with Israel.
The discussions come after a shift in the US policy after the president Donald Trumps Meeting with the Syrian interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa at the beginning of this month. The meeting signaled a break of decades of interest enemy towards Syria -Assad -Regime and opened the door for the potential normalization between Syria and Israel.
