The 8 automatic cat toilets that we have tested and recommended (2025)

If you have A cat, you know how picky, perfect and just strange you can be. Most of the symptoms against cats are people who do not understand that they are not dogs. Your behavior can be a little tricker and more distant. The next -mixed cat complaint is that cat toilets are stinking and you don’t want the shit to hang around another creature in your house. Regardless of this, automatic catbogly boxes have provided a solution for the stinking problem with cat toilets thanks to the constantly developing and growing PET technology.

Rudimentary Automatic throwing boxes I’ve been there since the late 80s. These early models showed an automatic rake attachment (similar to that Pet zone Smart Scoop Box below), however, had problems with reliability and volume. It was only in the 2010s that the cat toilets have included progressive technologies such as Wi-Fi and App Control. In the ten years since then, this technology has grown up and improved continuously.

We (and our cats) have tested some of the best rated and technologically advanced automatic cat toilets on the market for a week or more, with standard sound lump waste, unless otherwise stated to determine whether they were really worth the money or the hype. As with all pet products, make sure that you are thoroughly research which automatic waste boxes are best suited for your lifestyle and cat. We do not recommend automatic cat toilets that completely close (all on our list of recommendations remain open by cleaning cycles), since the machine could not feel the cat and could not feel it Kill it During its automatic cycle.

How do automatic throwing boxes work?

The automatic cat toilets vary depending on the brand and cat toilet. In general, you have sensors, either through movement or weight to see when a cat entered the cat toilet or left. Usually customizable and controlled via the app on your phone or on a more rudimentary timer system, the cleaning cycle begins for a short time after the cat has used the box. With the dome -shaped cat toilets, cleaning is carried out via a cycle in which the garbage turns around the spherical interior and revolves around the spherical interior. The larger polluted lumps are deposited in the waste basket, while the clean garbage flows through the grids and is recycled into the cat toilet.

For example, the Neakasa M1 turns backwards and then forward (instead of a spin cycle) to sift the lumps out of the clean garbage and put the larger lumps into the waste basket. The Pet Zone Smart Scoop is the most rudimentary on our list and simply uses a rake attachment to draw the larger lumps into a waste container.

Are automatic cat toilets safe?

Pet owners should always research and make a well -founded decision which box is best suited for you and your cat. We only tested automatic cat toilets that remain open during cycling and are never completely closed to ensure that the cat was not attached to a cat for some reason. We recommend cat toilets that are never completely closed for additional calming.

These automatic cat toilets use sensors – some only need 1 pound of weight to recognize your cat – where the cycle automatically stops, no matter where it is in the cleaning process. Many also have anti-pinch sensors. For additional security, the automatic cat toilets in this list have adjustable schedules, including “do not disturb” modes. If you are a neurotic helicopter cat mother like me, you can only run the clean cycles if you decide how if you are in the room to watch the cycle (although you would do this, the cat toilet would not stay clean for as long). The Pet Zone Smart Scoop is the only box on this list without sensors to automatically stop the cleaning cycle – one of the reasons why we do not recommend this model.

Where should I put the automatic cat toilet?

All of these automatic waste boxes require electricity so that you have to be near a socket. Since cats generally need a while to familiarize themselves with their new potty, we recommend that you keep your old cat toilet until you use the automatic cat toilet regularly.

As a rule, you should have a cat toilet for old box boxes for every cat. When cleaning automatic cat toilets, there is less for several options. However, we recommend leaving your old cat toilet for a longer period of time to ensure that the cat is used to the new automatic box. When setting up the new automatic cat toilet near the existing cat toilet, set up to promote use.
