Augmented World Expo 2025 will draw more than 6,000 participants, 400 speakers and 300 global exhibitors to his event from June 10th to June 12th in Long Beach, California.

Of course, the Red Hot Days of the “Metaverse”, inspired by Neal Stephensons Snow-Crash-Science Fiction novel in 1992, is no longer ahead. With less focus on sci-fi focus, the industry focuses on practical applications for mixed reality technology in corporate and consumer markets such as gaming.
But are XR and the metaverse overrun with AI or will they carry them to the mass market goal?
There is a lot about how committed Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta will be, even if it reduces some resources from XR to AI. Meta, which acquired Luckey’s Oculus in 2014, invested billions in technology every quarter without profits. But in a very unexpected turn, Zuckerberg and Luckey buried the hatchet of the past differences and an alliance between Meta and Anduril – the latter is Lucey’s AI/drone defense company.
Zuckerberg has a new competition from its own Nemesis Apple, which has launched the market Apple Vision Pro In February 2024. However, Apple slowed down its development of the next generation XR headset, while Zuckerberg emphasized more on the AR/AI glasses.
SPIEGEL, the Snap CEO, has focused on extended reality glasses. His glasses are now in its fifth generation, driven by Snap OS and the Authoring Tool Linse Studio.
Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese, will have a unique conversation on the main stage with five of his children, who continue his pioneering perspective while playing through XR. Brent Bushnell, Nolan’s eldest son, recently debuted DRAPAMARKA new XR startup that transforms every park or playground into a mixed reality theme.

Awe Builder’s Nexus will be a new program that focuses on startups this year. Startup founder, developer, designer, product manager and managing director receive the resources you need to build something extraordinary, get advice and financing, scale and win through partnerships, said Inbar. The event will also contain the AWE Gaming Hub.
I also interviewed some companies that present on the show technology. Here are some excerpts from what they will show.
Pico started in Beijing, China in 2015, and now reached its 10th anniversary. It does the independent Pico XR headsets and was taken over by Bytedance, the owner of Tiktok in 2021. In September 2024, the company started the PICO 4 Ultra Enterprise headset and filled the upper end of its product line in addition to G3 and Neo 3 Legacy headsets.

In the event of awe, Convai will also adopt learning and training scenarios for education and companies through a variety of simulations. Convai can make High -Fidelity -Avatars with high loyalty that effectively come from the cloud. At GDC, Conva has scanned me and caught my voice so that she can create a lifelike avatar from me. These avatars can be created quickly and answer a variety of questions from website visitors. The idea is to enable non-technical persons to create simulations without encoding anything.

Ohto Pentikäinen, CEO from DoublePoint, has a technology that recognizes the gesture that you can make with your hand. It captures this movement via a smartwatch and enables you to control things on a TV interface or an XR device. With Android XR, DoublePoint Demos, in which gesture control is more intuitive and comfortable augmented reality experience for those who wear AR glasses. XReal is one of the glasses manufacturers that use the technology to control an AR user interface with gestures.
“Our technology is able to fully control an XR system. Statistics that we can update is that there are 150,000 people who have downloaded technology so far, and we have had a development community of over 2,000 people since January 2024,” said Pentikäinen.
Now the company starts its own double -poing developer program, and this adds layers through the Enterprise customers. Now the company indie developer or startups that build augmented reality or AI hardware experiences can offer technology.
“We enable developers in AR -robotics and KI hardware and offer everything we offer to corporate customers, but at a much reduced price,” said Pentikäinen.
