Andrew Giuliani, the son of the former mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, has been appointed Executive Director of the Task Force of the White House 2026 FIFA World Championship Tuesday.
president Donald Trump made the announcement in a truth post on Tuesday after holding the first official meeting with the Task Force. Members of his cabinet and FIFA President Gianni Infantino were also present.

“I am proud to announce Andrew Giuliani’s appointment as executive director of the Task Force of the President at the FIFA World Championship 2026,” says Trump’s announcement.

“During my first term, Andrew was a key role in the creation of the system as the President and Deputy Director of the Office for Public Connections, which enabled the athletes from all over the world to reopen the United States during the reopening of America in 2020.”
In March, Trump signed an executive regulation in which the Task Force was set for the Football tournament, which are organized by the USA, Canada and Mexico. Trump will act as chairman of the Task Force, while Vice President JD Vance will act as deputy chairman. As an executive director, Giuliani will have the task of managing and monitoring daily operation.
After the meeting, Trump spoke Giuliani and his father and called the latter to the “greatest” mayor in New York’s history.

“He will be great. I know him for a long time. He is a very competitive golfer, really good. He is also a very competitive person, and he loves what we do. I would like to congratulate you and your family and her father, her great father, who was the greatest mayor in the history of New York, said and added.
Trump also announced on Tuesday that Carlos Cordeiro, a high -ranking advisor to FIFA, will act as a senior consultant at the Task Force.
“I know that Andrew and Carlos will work tirelessly to make the FIFA World Cup 2026 an unprecedented success.”

Expected one of the largest international sporting events, The cities of the World Cup await almost half a million visitors with potential economic effects of up to 480 million US dollars, which benefit the tourism, hospitality and retail industries.
The international tournament in North America begins in June 2026 and has been the first World Cup in several countries for more than two decades. Most games take place in the USA in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia and East Rutherford, New Jersey.
