To mark the nation’s 250th anniversary next year, a reportedly privately funded monument called the “Arc de Trump” is planned, the latest in a series of renovation and design projects the former real estate developer has pursued since his return to the United States White House. At a fundraising dinner in the White House ballroom on Wednesday, Trump shared more details about the latest memorial planned for the nation’s capital. He said he was presented with three bow models in different sizes – small, medium and large – and he preferred the largest model.

The monument, a close twin of Paris’ famed Arc de Triomphe, is designed to welcome visitors crossing the Memorial Bridge from Arlington National Cemetery into the heart of the nation’s capital.

The White House currently lacks a formal ballroom, and the new building is intended to replace the existing East Wing. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the new ballroom would cost an estimated $200 million and would be funded by Trump and private donors.

The ballroom isn’t the only update. Trump introduced gold accents in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room, lined the Walk of Fame with portraits of former presidents, including a photo of the autopen representing former President Joe Biden’s time in office, added and installed stone pavers on the Rose Garden lawn two 88-foot-long flagpoles.
