Trump says he does not look at a break in tariffs to allow trading negotiations

Donald Trump said that he had a break in tariffs “not to allow trading negotiations and that” many countries “were negotiated with US officials.

In the past on Monday, Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, told Fox News that the White House was in contact with 50 countries that were aiming for trade agreements.

“We will get fair offers and good offers with every country, and if we don’t, we will have nothing to do with them, they must not take part in the United States,” said Trump.

Trump’s comments came hours after threatening another 50 percent tariffs for China if Beijing had not withdrawn his retaliation taxes in Washington by Tuesday.

“If China does not reject its long -term trade injuries by April 8, 2025, the United States will impose additional tariffs of 50% on China on April 9 on April 9,” Trump wrote about the social truth on Monday.

The Chinese embassy in the USA criticized Trump’s latest tariff threat as a “hegemonic” step.

“This is a typical step of unilateralism, protectionism and economic bullying,” said Liu Pengyu, the spokesman for the message. “We have emphasized more than once that the pressure or threatening China is not a real way to deal with us. China will protect his legitimate rights and interests.”

Trump’s threat to significantly increase the tasks in China, the largest exporter in the world, came in a day of acute volatility in the US markets.

The Blue-Chip S&P 500 Share Index swung in a wide range, but closed only 0.2 percent. Apple, which is strongly exposed to China due to its supply chains, dropped by 3.7 percent. The technical driving Nasdaq Composite ended the day by 0.1 percent.
