Backlash hires against New York University after her legal faculty has decided to block an event on campus with the conservative Jewish legal analyst Ilya Shapiro, which was planned for the anniversary of Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
The University chapter’s chapter had planned to host Shapiro for a lunch discussion, but the event was canceled after the NYU administrators had occurred.

“There could be no example for weak university officials in view of the veto of a rearer than this farce,” Shapiro told Fox News Digital. “I would like to give Nyus Dean a copy of my book so that he can do the work of how to be an effective and principle guide.”
Michael Orey, a spokesman for the Jura faculty of the NYU, told Fox News Digital that the NYU “did not” cancel the event of the Federalist Society, but asked another date for the hosts of Shapiro.
“We did not cancel the appearance of Mr. Shapiro. When the students who organized the event requested a classroom on October 7, they were informed that we could not start them at the time, and we then proposed alternative data,” said Orey. “Mr. Shapiro is cordially invited to speak here at the Nyu Law, and has appeared here in the past. We remain ready to work with students to find a time for him in the future.”
