Vice -president Jd vance And the second Lady Usha visits Greenland on Friday, an island with fewer than 60,000 people, which has become of central importance for President Donald Trump’s foreign policy.
The Vances visit the Pittuffik Space Force Base, where they receive a briefing about the security of Arctic and meet with US service members.
“The Vice President and the second lady begin a historical expedition with her visit to Greenland, where the Vice President will emphasize the importance of strengthening Artic security in places such as the petenfik world dream base,” said a high -ranking civil servant of the White House. “Unfortunately, Danish leaders have spent decades of abusing the Greenland people, treating them like citizens of the second class and arousing the infrastructure on the island. Usha Vance was originally intended for travel to Greenland Without the vice president on a cultural journey to observe a dog sled race. At the beginning of this week, however, the Vice President decided to participate and the trip was changed to concentrate on national security.

Vance is the highest civil servant who has ever traveled as far north as Petenfik, said the White House.
Vance’s first trip abroad to Paris and Germany made waves for its hard conversation about Europe, which has driven some nations about the relationship between the United States, but triggered a mobilization of financing through Europe For his own defense.
Trump made it a mission to take over Greenland in his second government from Denmark.
“We need Greenland for national security and international security,” he said reporters in the Oval Office.

“So we, I think we have to go as far as we have to go,” he continued. “We need Greenland. And the world needs us to have Greenland, including Denmark. Denmark has to let us have Greenland. And, you know, we will see what happens. But if we don’t have Greenland, we cannot have good international security.”
“I look at it for security reasons, we have to be there,” added Trump.
Greenland is heavily based on the well -being from Denmark, which currently contributes around 700 million US dollars per year of around 700 million US dollars.
In January, Denmark announced in response to Trump’s ambitions that it would spend another 2 billion US dollars to strengthen the defense on the island.

The Trump management has dangled billions for Greenland to invest in the development of its natural resources – minerals for rare earth and oil and gas reserves.
However, mining Greenland has proven to be notoriously difficult because 80% of the island is covered with an ice sheet.
Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Eggede at the beginning of this week described the upcoming Vance visit “very aggressive American pressure against the Greenland community” and asked the European leaders to stand against it.

Trump founded the Space Force in 2019 to defend itself against the intervention in the interests of America in the earth orbit. In recent years, China and Russia have strengthened their presence in Arctic language and have invested in icebreakers, new atom -u boats and minerals for rare earth.
