Fujifilm constantly refreshes its instax list and adds new functions such as parallax correction and faster USB-C shop, which almost all instax cameras now offer. In some cases, however, the company has not stopped selling the old models. In general, we recommend capturing the latest models, but sometimes you will find deep discounts on older models. Here are some other models that are worth considering.
Instax PAL for 80 US dollars: At the end of last year, Fujifilm presented the buddy, a tiny digital camera that you can also buy with an Instax Mini Link 2 smartphone printer and a 10-pack instax mini film. I haven’t tried the buddy yet, but I fight to understand who needs it. You can get many of the same functions in the Mini -EVO, but maybe it is less likely that the Evo will be on life in the hands of a child? I will test it soon and tell myself.
Instax SQ 6 for $ 150 to $ 200: For me, this is a head scratcher. As mentioned above, the SQ 6 is a better camera than the SQ 1 or SQ 40, which seem to have replaced the SQ 6 together. However, Fujifilm no longer lists the SQ 6 on its Instax website. If you like the square format, the SQ 6 is a fantastic camera. It has a number of manual functions that cannot be found in the others – especially like the light and darkening modes that can be used like exposure compensation, in addition to the fully automatic mode of the SQ 40. If you find it for around $ 100 to $ 150 and love the Square film, I say, do it.
Instax Mini 11 for $ 80 to $ 120: This is covered at the top, but if you missed it, the Mini 11 is almost never worth a purchase. There are only a few dollars cheaper than the newer Mini 12 and most functions that buy the Mini 12 are so good. If you find it for less than 50 US dollars, it may be worth it, but avoid Mini 11.
Instax Mini Link Printer for 145 US dollars: Fujifilms Instax Mini -Link was replaced by the Mini -Link 2, but the upgrades were slightly and frankly I cannot see any difference in the print quality. If you find the original Mini link for less than the price of the left 2, choose less. The link 2 sells most of the time for $ 100. So if you find the link for less, grab one. They are both great printer.
Instax 7S/8/9: These are all older instax models with a low end states. They all use a fixed shutter speed of 1/60, while the automatic exposure of the comparable inexpensive mini 12 can choose between 1/2 to 1/250 secondsplate, which makes it much more flexible. In view of the fact that most of them are difficult to find anyway, give them a pass.
